UPGRADE YOUR IT SKILLS OR LOSE RELEVANCE GOVERNOR TELL IMO TEACHER
Mr Rochas Okorocha, Governor of Imo State, says public school
teachers have to upgrade their IT skills to remain relevant in today’s
digital world.
Okorocha gave this advice during a meeting with all the head teachers and members of the State Development Council (SDC) at the Imo International Convention Centre, Owerri.
According to him , “education has changed in the 21st century, every teacher must be ICT compliant, very soon teachers who are not ICT compliant may become irrelevant and outdated in the teaching profession.”
The Imo State Governor frowned at how the fund he released to principals and head teachers for renovations in their schools were abused, misused and squandered.
Such ugly action according to him, negatively affected his good intentions to give school structures in the state a face lift through them.
The Governor however scored Imo State teachers high for their commitment to duty and diligent services, noting that their welfare will remain his topmost priority. He equally suggested the need to start promoting Igbo culture in schools.
The event attracted the Deputy Governor Prince Eze Madumere, the Speaker Imo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Acho Ihim, Chief of Staff Government House Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, Deputy Chief of Staff Domestic and Internal Affairs Hon. Mrs Ogechi Ololo, Commissioners, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants among others, according to a statement issued by the Imo State Government.
